hello, i downloaded the clean client. i updated it via the site's launcher but the game doesn't start. error lcid cannot run in this locale

The "LCID cannot run in this locale" error means that the Lineage 2 client cannot run with your current system language settings (locale). This is a common issue when running a Russian client on a system with a non-Russian locale (e.g., English).

Possible Solutions:​

This is the most common and recommended solution:

1. Go to Control Panel → Clock and Region → Region.
2. Open the Administrative tab.
3. Click Change system locale....
4. Select Russian (Russia).
5. Restart your PC.

After rebooting, try launching the game again through the launcher.

If you don’t want to change your system locale, you can try launching the client with AppLocale or Locale Emulator:

• AppLocale: old Microsoft utility (may not work on Windows 10+).
• Locale Emulator: modern alternative, works on Windows 10 and 11.

Download and install Locale Emulator, then:

1. Right-click on L2.exe → Locale Emulator → Run in Russian (RU).
2. The game should now launch without the LCID error.

To fix this issue, please try the following steps:

Open the Control Panel (Start → Control Panel).


Go to "Region" or "Regional and Language Options".


Open the "Administrative" tab (it may be called "Advanced" on older Windows versions).


Click "Change system locale..." under "Language for non-Unicode programs".


First, try selecting Russian (Russia).


Click OK, then restart your computer.


Try launching the game again.



If the error still appears, repeat the steps and this time select English (United States) instead of Russian.
